Hi! I’m Carlie, the newest member of the Hoola Tech team!

Where did you grow up? Tell us about your family and friends!

I grew up in a small town just outside of Muncie called Selma here in Indiana. We lived on a small farm in which we raised cows, poultry, and goats. I have two siblings, Courtlinn (25) and Colton (16). I now live in Muncie on Ball State’s campus with my best friend Kambrey and my sweet fur baby Jax.

What is your major, and what made you decide to study this industry?

I am currently a Junior at Ball State University majoring in computer science and minoring in CIS. I chose this field because it is an industry that is always changing and growing. I have always been drawn to fixing technology problems as well as helping those around me.

Why Ball State?

I chose Ball State because it seemed perfect only being about 15 minutes from my family. Not too far, but just far enough.

What led you to look at the Hoola opportunity?

After completing two semesters at Ball State, I kept telling myself that I wanted to learn hands-on rather than just continuing school work. I had applied for a couple of other internships but in the midst of interviewing with those places I heard about Hoola. I contacted Brad and ended up in his office the next day interviewing! I knew that Hoola was right for me because it is a stress-free environment and it is going to help me grow as a computer geek and person in general.

Where do you see the future of your career?

The future of my career includes me finishing out my Bachelor’s degree, continuing to grow my knowledge of computer based problems and work my way up the ladder in the IT industry.

What is your dream job?

My number one dream job is working in the IT industry for a non-profit organization focused on children.

What do you enjoy about working with Brad so far?

Working with Brad has been very informative, helpful, and entertaining. I enjoy working with Brad because he is willing to help me achieve anything that I have put my mind to.

When you’re not studying or at Hoola, what do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time I enjoy walking my fur baby, crafting, and spending time with my family and friends.

For the most important question of all: what do you like on your pizza?

The only thing that belongs on pizza is bacon and pepperoni, by far.
